DTZ result: why you might get A2, and what happens next 📬
The DTZ is one exam with two possible levels. Many learners are surprised by how the level is decided. The rule (BAMF / g.a.s.t.): · You get B1 if Sprechen is B1 and at least one of the two others is B1: Hören/Lesen or Schreiben. · The same logic applies to A2. · Below A2 you receive only a result sheet (Ergebnisbogen), no certificate. So speaking decides a lot. A learner with strong reading but weak speaking can end up with A2. Waiting for the result: · g.a.s.t. usually passes the results to BAMF about two and a half weeks after the exam. After BAMF checks them, the certificate goes to your exam centre, not straight to you. · Real waiting times are longer. One learner waited seven weeks. If it wasn't B1: · You can retake as often as you want, but always the whole exam, written and oral. · Integration course participants: BAMF pays for the first exam and one repeat. · Look at the result sheet: which part pulled you down? Train that part first. · Ask your Träger about repeat options for course hours.
