DTZ writing: the letter skeleton that learners reuse ✉️
In DTZ Schreiben you get 30 minutes and choose one of two tasks. Each task is a semi-formal or formal message (letter or email) with four content points given as keywords (g.a.s.t.). The skeleton prep sites and teachers recommend: 1. Ort und Datum (top right) 2. Betreff: one short line about the topic 3. Anrede: "Sehr geehrte Frau …," / "Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren," 4. Opening sentence: why you are writing ("ich schreibe Ihnen, weil …") 5. The four points: one short paragraph each, in the order given 6. Closing sentence: "Ich freue mich auf Ihre Antwort." 7. Gruß: "Mit freundlichen Grüßen" + your name What learners warn about: · Skipping a content point is expensive. Prep sites say it can cost you B1 even if your grammar is good. Tick off the four points before you hand in. · Read both tasks first and choose the one where you know the words, not the one that looks shorter. · One learner got situations she had never practised. Practise many types: to a landlord, a school, a boss, a course provider. Use your last 3–4 minutes to check verb position and the ending of the letter.
