Learning the 310 questions without going crazy 🧠
The Leben in Deutschland test and the Einbürgerungstest use the same public BAMF question catalogue: 300 general questions plus 10 for your Bundesland. The test has 33 questions. Three study styles learners describe: 1. Print and annotate One learner printed the whole catalogue, circled every unknown word and wrote the translation next to it. One to two hours a day for a week was enough for them, but they already had good German. 2. Spaced repetition A software engineer found learning from a plain PDF frustrating, especially switching to translation apps all the time. He used a free Anki deck with explanations and translations, which shows difficult questions more often. 3. Understand, don't just memorise Guides warn that machine translations of the formal German can distort the meaning. They suggest understanding why an answer is right, and using the official BAMF online practice test. Tips: · Start with the official trainer (oet.bamf.de) and a simulated test with 33 questions. · Keep a list of the questions you get wrong and repeat only those. · Learn key words: Grundgesetz, Bundestag, Wahl, Religionsfreiheit, Gleichberechtigung.
