Old exam tips online: always check the year ⚠️
When you search for exam experiences you find posts from 2014, 2016, 2020 and later. Many are still useful for study tips, but exam rules and formats change. We noticed this while reading learner stories. Examples of things that changed: · An older Staatsexamen blog describes writing with a pencil on paper and no dictionary. Today the Staatsexamen site says all parts are done on a computer, and the Van Dale Pocketwoordenboek NT2 is allowed for Lezen and Schrijven. · In a thread about the exam abroad, earlier posters described exercises that later posters said were no longer in the test. · Names change too: people mix up the A2 integration exam, the B1 route and the Staatsexamen. How to use old advice safely: · Use it for study methods and mindset: those don't expire. · For format, time, dictionary rules, fees and deadlines: check inburgeren.nl, staatsexamensnt2.nl or duo.nl. · Look at which law applies to you (for example Wi2013 or Wi2021); the exams are different. If a post tells you something about rules that surprises you, treat it as a question, not a fact.
