Who is Défi actuel 1 for?
Défi actuel 1 is the A1 level of the Défi course by Éditions Maison des Langues, in its new hybrid edition (printed book plus digital access to the interactive book). It is written for adult beginners of French and is used in language schools and Alliances Françaises. It takes you from your first words to the A1 level of the Common European Framework, the level of the DELF A1.

How to use it for the DELF A1
A course book teaches the language; the exam asks you to show it in a fixed format. A good rhythm is one unit per week from the book, plus short practice in the exam format: reading and listening questions with the answer explained, and one short text or spoken answer per week.
