The parcours d'intégration républicaine is for non-EU nationals admitted to settle in France for the first time. By signing the CIR you commit to a civic training and a language training over one year. The civic training lasts four days and covers the same five themes as the civic exam. For French, a positioning test decides whether you follow a course (up to 600 hours) or a remote digital option, aiming at level A2. The page also notes the January 2024 law that added language levels and the civic exam for multi-year and resident cards. This is an external link; the publisher's terms of use apply.
