Cita previa for extranjería: book on the official site only 🏢
Most immigration procedures (extranjería) in Spain require an appointment, called cita previa. You book it on the official sede electrónica of the Administraciones Públicas. Tips from people who went through it: · Use only the official sede electrónica. Appointments are a public service; be wary of anyone selling them. · Know exactly which procedure (trámite) you need before you start. Picking the wrong one can mean being sent away at the office. · Have your NIE or passport number ready as it appears on your documents. · Available slots appear at different times; checking at different moments of the day helps. · Save or print the confirmation and bring all originals and copies to the appointment. For questions about the appointment system, the official help page points to the 060 phone line. For questions about your own file, contact the Oficina de Extranjería of your province. Keep your exam certificates (DELE, CCSE) in the same folder as your residence documents, so everything is ready for any procedure.
