Plan backwards from the registration deadline ⏳
The most common mistake is not failing the exam but missing the registration deadline. How the three exams compare: · DELE: fixed convocatorias a few times a year. Registration usually closes five to eight weeks before the exam. Example: the 13–14 November 2026 sessions close on 30 September 2026. · CCSE: monthly from January to November (no August, no December). Each month closes roughly three weeks before. Registration for 2027 opens on 23 November 2026. · SIELE: no fixed dates; you book the day and time yourself. A simple method: 1. Write down the date you need the certificate by (for example, when you want to submit your nationality file). 2. Subtract the time for results: about 2–3 months for DELE, about 20 days for CCSE, up to 3 weeks for SIELE. 3. Pick the exam date before that, and note its registration deadline. 4. Plan your study weeks backwards from the exam date. Check the official calendars before paying; dates can change.
