DELE A1: four short tests, one clear plan 🧭
The DELE A1 is the first Instituto Cervantes diploma. It is a good first goal if you arrived in Spain recently and want proof that you can handle simple everyday Spanish. The official format: · Comprensión de lectura (reading): 45 minutes, 4 tasks, 25 items · Comprensión auditiva (listening): 25 minutes, 4 tasks, 25 items · Expresión e interacción escritas (writing): 25 minutes, 2 tasks · Expresión e interacción orales (speaking): 10 minutes, plus 10 minutes to prepare, 3 tasks Each test is worth 25 points, 100 in total. What this means in practice: · The written part is short. Short, correct sentences beat long, risky ones. · The oral test may be on another day than the written tests. Check your convocatoria letter carefully. · DELE diplomas do not expire, so an A1 stays valid for your CV. Tip: learn to talk for one minute about yourself (name, origin, family, work, where you live in Spain). That covers a large part of the first oral task.
