DELE B1: longer texts, more tasks 📚
B1 is the level where you can manage most situations at work and in daily life. The exam is noticeably longer than A2. The official format: · Reading: 70 minutes, 5 tasks, 30 items · Listening: 40 minutes, 5 tasks, 30 items · Writing: 60 minutes, 2 tasks · Speaking: 15 minutes, plus 15 minutes to prepare, 4 tasks Each test is worth 25 points (100 in total). The oral can be on the day before or after the written part. What this means in practice: · About 2 minutes per reading item. Skim first, then read the parts you need. · Five listening tasks in 40 minutes: learn to read the questions before each audio starts. · Writing at B1 expects opinions and simple arguments, not only descriptions. Tip: for reading, practise with real Spanish texts: municipal notices, rental adverts, news from your region. The vocabulary of daily life in Spain appears again and again.
