DELE or SIELE: which one should I take? ⚖️
Both are backed by the Instituto Cervantes, but they suit different needs. Choose DELE if: · You need proof for Spanish nationality by residence. The Instituto Cervantes names the DELE A2 or higher, together with the CCSE, for that file. · You want a diploma that never expires. · You are sure of your level and can wait for a fixed date and about two to three months for results. Choose SIELE if: · You need a certificate quickly, for example for a job or course application: no fixed dates, results within three weeks. · You do not know your exact level; one exam shows your level per skill from A1 to C1. · Five years of validity is enough for your goal. Important: before paying for either, check what the organisation that will receive your certificate (university, employer, ministry) accepts. The official nationality information names the DELE; if you plan to use a SIELE certificate for something official, confirm it first with that body.
