Use the official question list, but don't just memorise it đź“‹
The Ministry publishes an official list of knowledge questions for each level of the civic exam: one list for the carte de séjour pluriannuelle (CSP) and one for the carte de résident (CR). The lists are grouped by the five themes and give the questions without the answers. The page also says that the scenario questions (mises en situation) are not published. A study plan many learners use: 1. Pick the list for your card (CSP or CR). Naturalisation has its own mention of the exam. 2. Go theme by theme. Write your own answer next to each question, then check it on the free fiches of formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr. 3. Mark the questions you got wrong and repeat only those the next day. 4. For the scenarios, ask yourself for each rule: why does it exist, and what would I do in a real situation? Why not only memorise: the 12 scenario questions are unknown in advance, and they carry real weight when you need 32/40. Understanding the principle (laïcité, equality, freedom of expression and its limits) is what lets you answer a new situation. Avoid unofficial 'answer PDFs' with no source; some contain mistakes.
