The 12 mises en situation: think like a citizen, not a lawyer 🏛️
Twelve of the 40 questions are mises en situation: a short scene from daily life and four possible reactions. They are not published in advance, so learners find them the most stressful part. How to approach them: · Read the whole scene first. Who is involved: a public service, an employer, a neighbour, a school? · Look for the principle behind it. Most scenes test a value from the official themes: equality between women and men, laïcité in public services, non-discrimination, respect of the law, the rights of children. · Remove answers that break a rule (violence, discrimination, taking justice into your own hands). · Between two reasonable answers, choose the one that uses the proper channel: the police, the mairie, a court, a labour inspector, a doctor. Practice idea: take one fiche from formation-civique.interieur.gouv.fr each evening and invent a small everyday situation for it. Explain aloud, in French, what a person should do and why. Keep in mind: the exam is in French. If reading speed is your problem, the scenarios are also reading practice, so train them with a timer.
