DELF B1 oral: the opinion monologue is where points are 🎤
Teachers and past candidates describe the DELF B1 oral as an individual exam in three parts: a guided conversation, an interactive exercise (a role play where you must solve a problem or convince someone) and an expression of your point of view based on a short document. For the monologue, a structure that learners and teachers recommend: 1. Present the topic in one sentence: 'Ce document parle de…' 2. Give your opinion clearly: 'Personnellement, je pense que…' 3. Two arguments, each with an example from your life or your country. 4. A short conclusion, maybe a question to open the discussion. For the role play: · Play the role fully, even if the situation feels artificial. · Use polite ways to insist: 'Je comprends, mais…', 'Est-ce qu'il serait possible de…'. The examiners then ask questions. That is not a bad sign; they want to see you react. Practise with ten common topics: work, screens and children, city vs countryside, healthy food, public transport, volunteering, holidays, studying as an adult, sport, neighbours.
