DELF B2 writing: an argued text with a clear plan 🧱
The DELF B2 written production usually asks for one argued text: for example a letter to a newspaper, a contribution to a forum or a formal letter defending a position. A plan that works for many candidates: · Introduction: context in one or two sentences, then your position. · Paragraph 1: first argument + concrete example. · Paragraph 2: second argument + example. · Paragraph 3 (optional): an objection and your answer to it ('On pourrait objecter que…, mais…'). · Conclusion: summary and an opening or a proposal. What raises the score at B2: · Respecting the text type: a formal letter needs the right opening and closing formulas. · Varied connectors and some complex sentences (relative pronouns dont, où, lequel; subjunctive after il faut que, bien que). · Staying within the word count. Spend the first 10 minutes planning. Candidates who start writing immediately often lose the thread halfway. Remember: under 5/25 in any part is eliminatory, so writing cannot be skipped.
