DELF scoring: 50/100 is not enough if one skill is under 5 ⚠️
The DELF A2, B1 and B2 have four parts: three collective written sessions (listening, reading, writing) and one individual oral exam. Each part is marked out of 25, total 100. To get the diploma you need both: · at least 50 points out of 100, and · at least 5 out of 25 in every part. A score under 5 in any part is eliminatory. Why this matters: learners with strong speaking sometimes neglect writing. A total of 60/100 with 4/25 in writing is a fail. How to use this in your preparation: · Do one full mock test early to see your weakest part. · Bring that part up to a safe level first (10+/25) before polishing your best skill. · Aim for a margin: many teachers suggest training until mock tests are around 60 to 65, because exam-day stress costs points. Good news: the DELF is a diploma with no time limit. Once passed, it counts for life, unlike TCF or TEF attestations.
