TCF speaking: ten minutes, three tasks, no time to warm up 🗣️
The expression orale of the TCF IRN takes about 10 minutes with an examiner and has three tasks. Test centres and learners describe a steady progression: a guided conversation about yourself, then an interaction task (asking for information or organising something), then giving and defending an opinion. What people who reached B1/B2 did: · Prepared a 1-minute presentation of themselves: work, family situation in general terms, how long in France, hobbies. Not memorised word for word, but ready. · Practised asking questions, not only answering them. In the interaction task you are the one who asks. · Used simple connectors to show structure: d'abord, ensuite, par contre, à mon avis, par exemple. · Gave a reason and an example for every opinion. Common mistakes: · Speaking too little because of fear of errors. A short, correct sentence scores less than a longer answer with small mistakes. · Studying grammar lists but never speaking aloud. A prep guide stresses 10 to 15 minutes of daily speaking practice on set topics. Record yourself on your phone, listen back, and note one thing to improve each time.
