TEF IRN: the 90-minute format since April 2025 ⏱️
The TEF IRN is run by the CCI Paris Île-de-France (Le français des affaires). Since 1 April 2025 it certifies levels from A1 to B2, so it can now be used for naturalisation (B2) as well as for residence cards. The current format, according to the organiser: · Compréhension écrite: 20 questions, 30 minutes · Compréhension orale: 20 questions, 20 minutes · Expression écrite: 30 minutes, two parts (about 40+ words, then 100+ words) · Expression orale: 10 minutes, two parts of 5 minutes Total: 90 minutes. What changed in 2025: more real-life material, such as administrative documents in reading and everyday audio (voicemails, announcements, street interviews) in listening. Practical tips: · Old practice books from before 2025 have a different format. Use them for skills, not for timing. · The listening part now sounds like daily life: practise with real messages, radio and announcements, not only studio dialogues. · Your result certificate is valid for 2 years from issue.
