Your mock-exam score is not a promise 📉
A pattern in learner stories: "I scored well on the practice test, then the real exam felt harder." Or even: "I passed all the practice reading tests and failed the real one." Why this happens: · You may have seen the same practice texts before, so they feel easier the second time. · Exam-day stress, a noisy room and strict timing are hard to copy at home. · Real exam texts can be on unfamiliar topics. How to make your practice more honest: · Use a practice test only once "for a score". Afterwards it is study material. · Time yourself strictly and don't pause audio. · Do practice in a less comfortable place once or twice (library, café). · Add unseen material: news in easy Dutch, a library book, a letter from the municipality. · Aim for a margin. If you only just pass practice tests, plan more time. The goal is not a high practice score; it is being able to understand texts you have never seen before.
