Course, tutor or self-study? What learners found ðŸ§
People pass in all three ways. What they say about each: Group course · Structure, a teacher's feedback, and classmates to practise with. · One learner found the classroom especially helpful for writing. · Small classes were preferred: more speaking time for everyone. Tutor (online or in person) · One learner combined an app for vocabulary with a tutor twice a week for grammar, pronunciation and conversation, and reached conversational level within a year. · Advice seen in one thread: a native-speaking tutor helps with natural pronunciation. Others disagree and say a good non-native teacher can explain grammar better. Look at teaching quality, not only the passport. Self-study · Clearly possible: several people passed A2 with books, practice exams and videos. · The most common regret: not speaking enough. One self-learner said a group course would have given the speaking practice he missed. Whatever you choose, check two things: who corrects your writing, and when do you speak Dutch out loud each week? If the answer is "nobody" and "never", add that first.
